Mayor Miro Weinberger Applauds International Women’s Day Celebration

Burlington, VT – Mayor Miro Weinberger today applauded the organizers of this Saturday’s International Women’s Day celebration in City Hall’s Contois Auditorium.

“I want to thank the many individuals and organizations who have collaborated to create Saturday’s tribute that will celebrate and honor the women and girls of our City, and for reminding us all of the continued work needed to ensure the rights of women of all ages to lead secure, creative, healthy, and free lives,” Mayor Weinberger shared. “As husband to my wife, Stacy, and father to my two daughters, I am pleased to have such an important conversation taking place in our City.  I thank Sandy Baird and Louise Andrews for their leadership in organizing this important community dialogue.”

The International Women’s Day event will reflect the City of Burlington’s diversity through featured speakers, poignant discussions, and food. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
