Mayor Miro Weinberger Statement in Response to President Obama’s Plan to Curb Gun Violence

“Today President Obama called on America to “do the right thing” and save lives by enacting meaningful, common sense reforms consistent with the Second Amendment and our hunting and sporting culture.  The President specifically called on citizens in states like Vermont that have a strong tradition of responsible gun ownership to speak out and say:  this time, after Newtown, it must be different.  We all owe it to our children and our communities to seriously consider the President’s call.”
