An Update on our Operations

Dear Burlington,

As the City continues its response to COVID-19, we encourage you to check https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/covid-19 for updates. We all take pride in providing essential services that protect public health and public safety. That work will always continue. We want to share an update on DPW specific services with you.

  • We will always continue providing clean, reliable, tested drinking water and running wastewater operations 24/7/365. You can report emergency water issues 24/7 at 802-863-4501. For less urgent issues please call during business hours or email water-resources@burlingtonvt.gov

  • We have suspended all service terminations for non-payment on water accounts at this time.

  • Our daily recycling operations continue on your normal schedule.

  • Our response to road repairs continues.

  • Crews remain on-call for urgent situations, including water main breaks and traffic signal issues.

  • We strongly encourage you to use the See Click Fix app or website (www.seeclickfix.com/burlington_2) to report missed recycling or other non-urgent maintenance issues, such as potholes. You can also call 802-863-9094 or email dpw-pinecustomerservice@burlingtonvt.gov.

  • You can pay your water bill at https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/My-Account, over the phone or by using the mail slot at 235 Penny Lane.

  • Gates at the three city owned garages will be raised for this interim period and payment will not be collected.

  • All city buildings will be closed or highly restricted until at least April 6th, so you will be unable to obtain our customer care services in person at this time. However, we are staffed at our phone lines and on See Click Fix.

  • Please continue to monitor the City website, the DPW website and our calendar (found on our website) for any updates.

  • The March 18th DPW Commission will proceed with a limited agenda. We request that you join by teleconference. You can see more details at https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/Commission/Agendas

Please continue to check the City website (posted above), HealthVermont.gov or CDC.gov for the most up to date information on COVID-19.

Thank you, Burlington. Stay well and we will get through this as a community.
