Pedestrian safety is our top priority. 

Thanks to the support of voters, we have undertaken more pedestrian capital improvements than in recent memory. We currently maintain or employ:

130 miles of sidewalk • 1,014 crosswalks, stop bars and turn arrows • ​​​​​​33 crossing guards 

Sidewalks and crosswalks represent some of our most visible infrastructure and the best ways to get pedestrians around the city safely. Below you can find resources to learn more about these programs, how to request capital improvements or maintenance requests and how our work gets prioritized.
