The City of Burlington's Department of Public Works (DPW), in partnership with the CCRPC, is preparing an update to the existing 2017 planBTV Walk Bike Plan. This action-oriented document will provide a list of projects the City will prioritize in coming years. The goal is to identify and prioritize projects which will offer the greatest benefits to public safety and have community support. This will be done as dynamically as possible so this information and prioritization can evolve and grow as data changes.
The planBTV Walk Bike Action Plan will be built through data-driven analysis and public engagement targeted specifically at underserved populations. The result will be a clear identification and prioritization of specific projects, programs, and policies that DPW should focus on implementing in the coming years. This document will support the City in applying for future rounds of Safe Streets For All (SS4A) or other grant funding, increasing active transportation mode share, and providing a safe and accessible active transportation network for all ages and abilities.
